PDF Print E-mail

Whether it is due to old age, wear and tear or spillage, carpets or upholstered furniture can be brought back to life with the use of a professional cleaning company.  With our special nine-stage cleaning method we are able to treat stains and odours quickly and effectively.

  • Inspection
  • Industrial Strength Hoover
  • Pre-Spray (Brings dirt to the surface)
  • Spot & Stain Removal
  • Agitation
  • Absorption
  • Hot Water Extraction Method
  • Deodorisers
  • Turbo Dryers (Where necessary)

This process will bring the carpet back to life, and you will be able to use it again as soon as we have finished. The majority of dirt particles trapped in the carpet are dry and can be vacuumed using super strength vacuum cleaners and cleaning agents. Once the majority of the dirt has been removed, we set to work on the harder-to-reach dirt which has been ground into the carpet. This has to be removed using a wet treatment such as hot water extraction. This type of dirt can only be reached by using special cleaning agents which dissolve and then absorb it before removing it from the carpet. Once this process has been completed, we treat the carpets with deodorisers and can then use our turbo dryers to get the carpet completely dry without shrinking it.

All our staff are trained by the National Carpet Cleaners Association and have a wealth of experience within the industry.  Monthly refresher training courses are also available and all staff are made aware of any changes to the industry such as new methods, techniques and equipment which may be beneficial to our clients.

Staff are comprehensively insured and offer a guarantee of 100% satisfaction on any work undertaken.
Mr Gleam are able to remove most stains and odours  quickly; thanks to our Turbo Dryers, we are able to carry out last minute jobs and still leave all upholstery and carpets bone dry and ready for use.

Spot & Stain Removal

Mr Gleam Ltd. can get rid of almost any stain on carpets, rugs and upholstery including the following;

Spot & Stain removal is normally best used as part of a complete carpet clean, as the treated area may

end up appearing lighter than the original carpet. This is due to the fact that the area will be thoroughly cleaned in comparison to the rest of the carpet. For relatively new carpets it may be possible just to treat the small areas affected by the stains.

This may also be applicable for stains on upholstery, where the treated area may become lighter due to the cleaning products.

Chewing Gum Removal

There are over 28 million regular chewing gum users in the U.K. Between them, they dispose of over 3 billion pieces of chewing gum per year. Most of this is spat out onto the street, and eventually ends up being walked through your house on the bottom of your shoes.

Many chewing gum stains cause many people to change their carpets or rugs, as it is often impossible to for non-specialists to remove. When chewing gum is walked into your house it often attaches itself to the fibres of your carpet or rug and then dries.  The pressure of a human being pushes it deep into the pile of the carpet and makes it very hard to remove.

Changing an entire carpet can be very costly and in most cases there is absolutely no need to do so. Mr Gleam Ltd can remove 99% of chewing gum stains leaving your carpet looking as good as new and at a fraction of the cost of replacing it. Our chewing gum removal system is ideal for any surface and can also be used on upholstery with the same results.

Stain Protection

If you have just bought a new carpet or had your existing carpets cleaned then it may be a good idea to get them protected from future stains.  Mr Gleam Ltd can professionally apply Scotchgard™ to your carpet and dramatically increase its lifespan. Scotchgard™ is an invaluable product which

  • Protects from oil-based stains
  • Protects from water-based stains
  • Helps carpets resist soiling
  • Stains will blot more easily and therefore won’t become stains
  • Allow any stains to be easily removed when carpet is cleaned
  • Allows your carpets, rugs & upholstery stay cleaner for longer

Improved Vacuuming

Scotchgard™ will make your vacuum more effective as dirt is picked up more easily, which means that fewer passes are required to get the carpet clean.

Improved Spill Clean-up
Liquid is repelled by the Scotchgard™ and is therefore much easier to remove by blotting.  By blotting early the liquid never has a chance to settle and dry into a stain.

Best Practise
Scotchgard™ is best used either when the carpet has just been laid or alternatively when it has just been professionally cleaned.  Scotchgard™ is not recommended for carpets which have a very high volume of traffic as this can remove some of the benefits of the protections. Mr Gleam Ltd would therefore suggest that it is best used in homes or small offices where there is not a constant movement of people on the carpet all day every day.

Odour Removal

Even if your carpet looks nice and clean, it can still be full of bad odours especially if you have pets. Many people try to mask these smells with general cleaning products but unless the source of the odour has been removed the smell can and will come back.  This is especially true of pet smells which can often overwhelm people coming to visit your house.

Mr Gleam Ltd can neutralise and permanently remove odours caused by animals, tobacco smoke and food leaving your home smelling fresh and clean.

Mr Gleam’s system for removing odours breaks down the odour-producing soils deep within the porous surfaces of your carpet or upholstery and re-odorises them with fresh fragrances.

Most odours can be removed easily and quickly but there are some which require instant treatment such as urine. If urine is not blotted up immediately after spillage then it can begin to evaporate and dry which in turn concentrates the smell. If large quantities of urine are spilt on the carpet and not immediately dealt with then it can contaminate the carpet backing and the flooring sub straights below the surface. Once this happens it is very hard to completely remove the odour.
