Traditional Window Cleaning

Traditional window cleaning methods are used on most single storey buildings and shop windows. 100% pure water, detergents and squeegees are used to bring any windows a sparkling finish. Cleaning of window frames and sills is included in the overall price of the window cleaning. The use of 100% pure water means that there won’t be any drip marks or streaks when the window dries.

Being an environmentally conscious company, Mr Gleam uses specialist top of the range equipment to filter and purify the water.  The system in place is the least wasteful on the market and works to a ratio of 1:1, whereas many of our competitors are wasting four times as much water to get the same yield.

Abseiling

In larger cities traditional methods of window cleaning are not an option due to the height of the buildings and therefore the best option is to abseil. This is a specialist skill but offers very good results. Water fed poles can be used on the lower parts of the building while abseilers work from the top downwards.  Our cleaners have a wealth of experience in this area and are able to work on buildings of any height. For window cleaning in Brighton this sytem is not often used as the number of high rise office blocks is minimal.

Harness Work

For buildings equipped with eye bolts we are able to use harnesses to gain access to the exterior of the building and clean the windows.  This is only possible in buildings where the windows are able to be opened and where the buildings are equipped with eye bolts. Only certain buildings have these and therefore in many cases abseiling is the only option available as the spider lift/cherry pickers only have a limited reach.

Once attached to the eye bolts, our staff will clean the windows thoroughly using traditional methods and will also clean any external window sills and frames.

 Hydraulic Platform Work/High Rise Window Cleaning

Where buildings are too tall for the reach and wash system, not tall enough to warrant abseiling and are not equipped with eye bolts we use hydraulic platforms. These platforms are also known as cherry pickers or spider lifts.

The Hydraulic Platforms are also used to gain access to hard to reach areas such as overhangs. Although this system is mainly used for commercial window cleaning, in certain areas it can also be used for home window cleaning

 Reach & Wash System/ Water Fed Window Cleaning Poles

The majority of windows in two-storey buildings are cleaned using the reach and wash water-fed pole system.  The poles are fed with 100% pure water to make sure that no drip marks or streaks are left on the glass. With all jobs carried out using the water-fed reach and wash system, the window sills and frames are also washed.

The purified water aids in keeping dirt away and therefore windows need to be washed less regularly than if cleaned using normal tap water.
